Actor Rajpal Yadav, who surrendered to the police as directed by the Delhi High Court in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases, has been given interim bail until March 18, 2026. The bail allows him to attend his niece’s wedding in Shahjahanpur after submitting a DD of Rs 1.5 crore and surrendering his passport. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 18.
Rajpal Yadav’s manager, Bhaskar Upadhyay, mentioned that half of the amount in the actor’s financial insolvency case has been repaid. Seeking an adjournment during a recent hearing, the manager explained that the bail application is subject to the other party’s response. He plans to meet Yadav in jail to discuss payment instructions and further actions.
Upadhyay indicated that more details regarding the financial matters will likely surface on Monday. He emphasized the ongoing negotiations concerning a 2012 agreement and the partial repayment of the borrowed sum. The court is expected to make decisions on the matter in the upcoming hearing based on the progress made so far.
The Delhi High Court’s directive for Yadav to surrender to the authorities stems from a financial irregularity case related to a loan taken for his film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ in 2010, which he failed to repay. In 2018, a magisterial court sentenced the actor and his wife to a six-month jail term.
