The team behind director Thiagarajan’s upcoming courtroom drama ‘Ranjan – The Advocate’ has welcomed actor Sathyaraj to the film unit. This Tamil remake of the hit Telugu movie ‘Court – State Vs A Nobody’ stars Prashanth in the lead role. Staar Movies, the film’s production house, marked the Tamil New Year by releasing a poster featuring Sathyaraj’s inclusion in the project.
Music for the film will be composed by two-time National Award winner G V Prakash, with cinematography by Ravi Yadav and production design by Senthil Raghavan. Apart from Prashanth and Sathyaraj, the movie will also include actors like R K Suresh, Mime Gopi, and director Subramaniam Shiva in significant roles.
The original Telugu film ‘Court – State Vs A Nobody’, which addressed the misuse of the POCSO Act, was well-received and praised by men’s rights activists. Director Ram Jagadish, who helmed the Telugu version, revealed that the storyline was inspired by a real-life case involving the act. The movie intertwined various POCSO cases into one narrative, shedding light on the biases within the Indian legal system.
