Actress Gitikka Ganju Dhar intentionally gained weight to portray the character of a mother facing life’s challenges for her child in the show Lukkhe. She made this decision to enhance the authenticity of her role as Amma alongside actor Lakshvir Singh Saran, who plays Lucky. The transformation included foregoing makeup and using specific products to depict an older, worn-out appearance reflecting the character’s struggles as a single parent in Chandigarh.
The director, Himank Gaur, guided the crafting of the character Amma in the series Lukkhe, which is currently available on Amazon Prime. The storyline revolves around Lucky, a hockey player played by Lakshvir Singh Saran, who delves into Chandigarh’s rap scene to uncover a dangerous drug syndicate. Amidst themes of love, loyalty, guilt, and brotherhood, Lucky interacts with key figures like police officer Gurbani and emerging rapper MC Badnaam.
Gitikka Ganju Dhar expressed gratitude for the positive reception of her portrayal and acknowledged the crucial contribution of her co-actor Lakshvir’s performance intensity in shaping her own acting. The show also features rapper King, Palak Tiwari, and other cast members, with rapper King making his acting debut in this series.
