Actress Kunickaa Sadanand highlighted the ongoing problem of delayed payments for new TV actors. She mentioned that payments are often delayed by 45 to 90 days due to the corporate payment structure in the television industry. Kunickaa suggested that artists should negotiate higher fees to account for potential delays in payments.
Such payment delays have been a persistent issue in the television industry, with channels receiving advertising payments late, leading to delays in payments to producers. Kunickaa emphasized the need for a buffer system in artists’ lives to mitigate the impact of delayed payments. She also noted that established production houses like Balaji should have sufficient reserves to ensure timely payments.
Notably, other members of the television industry, including Varun Badola and Arjun Bijlani, have previously spoken out about the challenges related to delayed payments.
