Actress-producer Manasi Parekh, along with her husband, singer-producer Parthiv Gohil, marked her 40th birthday by revealing the completion of two films, Mitrata and Adbhoot, produced under their banner. Adbhoot, a bilingual horror film in Gujarati and Marathi, is a unique experiment, while Mitrata boasts a youthful Gen Z vibe with a promising ensemble cast.
Mitrata, the first film, features Viraj Ghelani and a young cast, set for a theatrical release, offering a fresh narrative tailored for the Gen Z audience. On the other hand, Adbhoot, starring Swapnil Joshi and Manasi Parekh in unconventional roles, is set to be the first Gujarati-Marathi bilingual film of its kind, scheduled for an early release next year.
Parthiv expressed excitement about providing quality regional cinema entertainment with Mitrata and Adbhoot, following the success of Laalo. The duo’s commitment to exploring diverse genres, nurturing fresh talent, and delivering unique storytelling in regional cinema is evident through these projects.
Manasi Parekh, known for her roles in various TV shows and films, ventured into production in 2019 with the Gujarati web series “Do Not Disturb” and later made her debut in Gujarati cinema with “Golkeri.” Her notable achievements include winning the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2024 for her role in “Kutch Express,” making her the first Gujarati actress to receive this prestigious honor.
