Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar Returns for Mirzapur Film Adaptation

Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar is reprising her role as Sweety Gupta in the film adaptation of the popular crime thriller series Mirzapur. Sharing on Instagram, she posted pictures of the film’s clapboard and the cast, including Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, and Pankaj Tripathi.

In a caption, Shriya hinted at her character’s return, stating, “8 years later…guess who’s back from the dead. MIRZAPUR -THE FILM. Currently filming. Jald hi milenge.”

Sweety’s character met a tragic end in the first season, killed by Munna Bhaiyya at her own wedding despite being pregnant, for those unfamiliar with the show’s storyline.

The series revolves around crime boss and businessman Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, who holds sway over Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh. The ensemble cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, and others.

Shriya Pilgaonkar, known for her work in web series like Guilty Minds and The Broken News, will also appear in the upcoming film Haiwaan directed by Priyadarshan, alongside Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
