On Gautam Adani’s 64th birthday, the Adani Foundation achieved a milestone by collecting a record 52,306 units of blood nationwide. This surpasses last year’s collection of 28,090 units and was gathered through a donation drive spanning 754 cities, towns, and villages in 21 states, five Union Territories, and four international locations.
The donation drive, conducted in collaboration with over 764 blood banks, saw the participation of thousands of donors and volunteers. More than 6,000 volunteers, including medical professionals and administrative staff from the Adani Group, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the campaign.
Inspired by Gautam Adani’s philosophy of “Seva hi Sadhana Hai” (service is worship), the initiative was led by the Adani Healthcare team. The collected blood, amounting to nearly 23,538 liters, is expected to benefit over 1,56,918 patients by providing essential blood components crucial for emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatment, and managing chronic illnesses.
Adani Foundation Chairperson Dr. Priti Adani highlighted that this initiative exemplifies Gautam Adani’s dedication to service and was made possible through the collective efforts of the Adani family, volunteers, and medical professionals.
In a social media post, Dr. Priti Adani expressed gratitude to all contributors, emphasizing that the donated blood will bring hope and support to numerous patients and their families. Since its inception in 2011 with the collection of 1,300 units of blood, this annual tradition has grown into one of the country’s largest voluntary blood donation drives, uniting employees, partners, and communities in a shared mission of saving lives.
The Adani Foundation views this initiative as a testament to its commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, showcasing how acts of generosity can have a profound impact on society.
