The Adani Group plans to construct a 2,000-bed hospital in the New Town area near Kolkata, as announced by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. Out of these beds, 1,000 will be allocated for the free treatment of underprivileged patients. The remaining 1,000 beds will be utilized for commercial purposes, as per the chief minister’s statement highlighting recent government initiatives.
The commitment from the Adani Group includes the establishment of a modern hospital in New Town, with a focus on providing healthcare to the economically disadvantaged. During an engagement with the civil society members in his Bhabanipur assembly constituency, organized by the Alipore Citizens’ Association, this initiative was discussed.
In a separate development, the Adani Group in Bihar unveiled the ‘ACE-Adani Centre for Eye Diseases’ in partnership with Akhand Jyoti Hospital and the Adani Foundation. This collaborative effort aims to offer affordable and accessible eye care services to those in need, emphasizing the importance of quality healthcare accessibility.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, emphasized the significance of the “ATOM-Adani Training Centre for Ophthalmic Medicine” in training a new cadre of eye care specialists and female healthcare professionals. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance eye care services nationwide in the upcoming years, addressing critical healthcare needs.
During a visit to Mastichak in Bihar, Gautam Adani underscored the transformative impact of restoring eyesight on individuals, stating that it goes beyond medical treatment to instill hope, confidence, and dignity. Additionally, the Adani Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts have extended to collaborating with Adharshila Trust to expand renal care services at Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi.
