Adani Power’s subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd (MPGL), has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) to supply 558 MW (net) power for five years. This agreement is set to benefit Tamil Nadu consumers by providing reliable power, enhancing grid stability, and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to households, businesses, and industries.
Moxie Power operates a 1,200 MW power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Winning the bid with a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit, the supply is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2026. Adani Power, India’s largest private power producer with a capacity of 18.15 GW, highlighted that this deal secures more than 95% of its total operating capacity with medium to long-term contracts.
The company’s strategy includes achieving nearly 100% Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) tie-up for all operational and under-commissioning plants in the coming years. By securing power at competitive rates, consumers are expected to benefit from affordable and reliable energy in the future. Adani Power’s thermal capacity spans 12 power plants across various states, along with a 40 MW solar plant in Gujarat.
Adani Power reported a 5.3% increase in its Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the third quarter of FY26, reaching Rs 2,800 crore compared to Rs 2,659 crore in the previous fiscal year. This growth was mainly supported by lower finance costs and a stable operating performance.
