Ashok’s strong start on the front nine included five birdies, positioning her at 5-under par before the turn. Despite a bogey on the 13th, a late birdie on the 18th secured her T-3 spot at 6-under par.
Hyo Joo Kim’s day saw two bogeys and one birdie by the turn, followed by a bogey-free front nine with three birdies, extending her lead to four strokes. Aaron Rai, after a promising start, missed the cut with a 5-over 77 in the second round.
Sungjae Im maintained his lead with a 2-under 70, one stroke ahead of David Lipsky. Defending Champion Viktor Hovland missed the cut for the second consecutive year at Valspar.
