India’s Aditi Ashok began the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship with a 1-under 70, placing her tied-35th after the first round at the Evian Resort Golf Club. Aditi, a five-time winner on the Ladies European Tour and the 2016 Hero Women’s Indian Open champion, is participating in her ninth Evian Championship, aiming to improve on her past performances. She trails leader Aki Iwai of Japan by seven shots after a round that included a mix of birdies and bogeys.
Aditi’s round featured four birdies and three bogeys, keeping her comfortably within the projected cut line. Starting on the front nine, she balanced two birdies and two bogeys before adding another bogey on the back nine. However, strong play with back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes helped her finish under par for the day.
Aki Iwai of Japan took the lead with a remarkable 8-under 63, showcasing exceptional ball-striking and putting skills. Iwai’s flawless round included birdies on multiple holes, securing a two-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard. France’s Perrine Delacour also impressed with a 6-under 65, placing her in second after a strong opening round.
