A significant administrative error occurred at Rajasthan University during the MA Sociology second-semester examination when students were mistakenly handed answer keys instead of question papers. This incident led to confusion and anger among students at the examination center as they found answers printed on the sheets designated for the exam. The invigilators took prompt action by retrieving the papers once the mistake was identified.
The university’s examination department responded to the disruption by canceling the paper and rescheduling the examination for June 27. Approximately 300 students were expected to participate in the exam, according to government officials. The error arose when the envelope containing the answer key was inadvertently processed and dispatched to the examination center instead of the question paper.
Students protested at the center and gathered at the university’s administrative block, demanding accountability and repercussions for those responsible. They criticized the negligence and questioned the reliability of the examination system. University officials confirmed that an investigation into the matter is ongoing. Controller of Examinations Rakesh Rao stated, “In light of the seriousness of the situation, the examination has been annulled and rescheduled for June 27. An inquiry is in progress.”
Days after this incident, Rajasthan University faced another issue regarding insufficient drinking water facilities at the central library during extreme heat, leading to student demonstrations. The Indian Society paper at the university’s PG School of Humanities, scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m., was found to lack questions or multiple-choice options upon distribution to students.
