A political clash has arisen in Rajasthan just before Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ rally in Kota. The Congress party accuses the BJP government of removing posters, pressuring stakeholders, and hindering the Opposition leader’s engagement with students. The state administration allegedly started dismantling banners and hoardings publicizing the event, while coercing coaching institutes and accommodation providers to deter student involvement.
The BJP refutes these allegations, labeling them as unfounded and politically driven. This dispute coincides with Rahul Gandhi’s focus on issues like paper leaks, exam irregularities, and unemployment in Kota, a city synonymous with the dreams and struggles of numerous students. Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra criticized the BJP for reacting to the rally’s reception, affirming that the event will proceed despite any obstacles.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot intensified the criticism against the BJP, asserting that recurrent paper leaks and recruitment scandals have shattered youth confidence in the system. Gehlot emphasized the significance of launching a movement centered on Kota’s students, alleging attempts to impede Rahul Gandhi’s visit. He also raised concerns about creating a negative environment around the rally, insinuating opposition from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The Congress accused the BJP government of stifling student voices by removing banners and posters, emphasizing that youth voices cannot be silenced. Rahul Gandhi positioned the rally as a platform for students and job seekers, criticizing the Modi government for failing the youth through various issues. Amidst these tensions, the BJP dismissed the accusations as a ploy for political attention, challenging Congress leaders to substantiate their claims.
