Padma Shri awardee Adnan Sami recently had a meeting with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat during the centenary celebrations of the RSS. Sami mentioned that his misconceptions were clarified by Bhagwat during the interaction. Sharing pictures on social media, Sami expressed his admiration for Bhagwat’s insights and personality.
The RSS, founded in 1925 by K. B. Hedgewar in Nagpur, is a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization that focuses on character-building and national unity. Operating through local branches known as shakhas, the RSS engages volunteers in physical training and ideological discussions, emphasizing Hindutva and India’s cultural heritage.
Known for his versatility in Indian and Western music, Adnan Sami has received the Padma Shri for his musical contributions. His repertoire includes songs in various languages like Hindi, Urdu, English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Sami, who primarily plays the piano, is recognized for hits such as ‘Lift Karadey’ and ‘Tera Chehra’.
Raised and educated in the UK, Adnan Sami was a Canadian citizen before becoming a naturalized Indian citizen in 2016.
