Representatives from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and national team players visited hospitals in Kabul to check on those injured in an alleged Pakistani airstrike targeting a medical facility. ODI and Test captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, along with teammates Gulbadin Naib and Qais Ahmad, met with the injured, spoke to survivors, and showed solidarity with the victims and their families at Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital and Kabul Emergency Hospital. The visits occurred amid growing frustration in Afghanistan’s cricket community following reports of heavy civilian casualties in Kabul.

ACB officials and members of the #AfghanAtalan lineup visited those injured in the recent airstrike by the Pakistan Military Regime at Kabul Emergency and Wazir Akbar Khan Hospitals. Led by CEO Naseeb Khan, they inquired about the injured’s health, condemned the attack, and offered condolences. They also assured that aid would be provided and called for support from citizens and businesses during this challenging period.

The ACB strongly denounced the alleged Pakistani airstrike that reportedly resulted in over 400 deaths and at least 250 injuries, as per Taliban officials and local media. The board expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating that what should have been a time of celebration turned into mourning for many Afghan families during Ramadan and ahead of Eid. The ACB extended solidarity to the victims and their families, condemning violence against civilians and describing the attack as devastating.

Afghan cricketers Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq criticized the reported strikes, labeling attacks on civilian infrastructure as war crimes. They called for investigations by the United Nations and human rights organizations to hold those responsible accountable for the airstrikes.
