Afghan police in northeastern Badakhshan province seized 241 kilograms of illicit drugs and detained nine suspects in separate operations. The drugs were found in the Pul-e Begum and Tashkan areas during police raids. Authorities are investigating the suspects as part of their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the country.
In another incident, counter-narcotics police in Nimroz province discovered a significant amount of illegal substances, including 84 kg of opium and 130 kg of methamphetamine. Over 200 kg of materials used in manufacturing drugs were also seized. Seven individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in drug smuggling in the province.
Furthermore, police in Badakhshan province publicly destroyed 730 kg of opium as part of their campaign against illegal drugs. In a separate operation in Takhar province, Afghan police intercepted 60 kg of illicit drugs hidden in a vehicle. Two suspected drug smugglers were apprehended during the operation.
Additionally, security personnel in Ghazni province thwarted a major drug-trafficking operation, seizing 215 kg of opium. These efforts reflect the ongoing commitment of Afghan authorities to combat drug-related criminal activities in the region.
