Afghanistan’s Minister of Information and Culture, Shar Ahmad Haqqani, stated that Afghans remain undeterred by external pressure or military attacks, highlighting Kabul’s triumph against adversaries with superior weaponry and technology. Speaking at a seminar on journalist capacity building, Haqqani affirmed that despite years of conflict, Afghanistan stands firm against threats and challenges. He declared, “We have overcome opponents with advanced technology and weapons, and we do not fear bombings or hardships.”
The minister underscored the unwavering resolve of the Afghan people amidst ongoing adversities, stating, “We are not afraid or defeated.” Haqqani’s remarks come amid heightened tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, marked by exchanges of fire and concerns over civilian casualties. Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence recently conducted airstrikes against alleged ISIS-linked targets in Pakistan, targeting facilities in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
The Afghan Ministry of Defence reported that the airstrikes aimed at ISIS centers in Pakistan resulted in heavy casualties and financial losses for the extremist group and its supporters. Stressing precision in targeting designated sites, the Ministry assured that no civilian casualties occurred during the operations. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding Afghanistan’s security by targeting locations that pose threats to the nation.
In response to Pakistani military airstrikes that led to civilian casualties in Afghan provinces, Taliban Deputy Spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat confirmed the deaths of 36 civilians and injuries to 163 others, along with the destruction of residential properties. The recent escalation in hostilities underscores the volatile situation in the region, with both countries engaging in military actions that have raised concerns over civilian welfare.
