Agreements focusing on aligning skills with manufacturing needs were a significant outcome of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Surat. The event featured a seminar on green jobs and advanced skilling at Auro University, where three companies signed memoranda of understanding with industrial training institutes in the region.
State Labour, Rural and Skill Development, and Employment Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya chaired a seminar and panel discussion on “Green Jobs Revolution for Sustainable Chemical and Petrochemical Industries” and “Advanced Skilling for Global Manufacturing Competitiveness (DET).” The event was attended by Mission Director of the Gujarat Skill Development Mission and Director of Skill Development, Kamlesh Rathod.
Minister Bavaliya highlighted the importance of skill development initiatives under the Vibrant Gujarat program. He emphasized the government’s efforts to upgrade over 40,000 seats across 92 ITIs in South Gujarat based on industry demand. The focus is on providing specialized training, including in areas like AI, through collaborations with industries.
Employment fairs are being organized to create job opportunities for the youth, with an emphasis on practical learning experiences. Minister Bavaliya stressed the significance of integrating workers into the sustainable development process for the prosperity of industries. The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia, enhance employment prospects for youth, and provide guidance for future skill development.
