The Ahmedabad City Police has organized tight security and traffic management measures for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG re-exam on June 21. Over 10,000 candidates are expected at 23 exam centers in the city. Security arrangements align with guidelines from the National Testing Agency (NTA) overseeing the re-test.
The exam is set from 2 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. A nationwide mock drill was conducted by the NTA to ensure readiness for the re-test. During the exam period, six Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and officers from 15 police station jurisdictions will be on duty.
Additionally, Station House Officers (SHOs) and personnel from 14 traffic police stations will manage traffic flow for candidate convenience. Special monitoring at the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner’s Control Room will oversee live CCTV feeds from all 23 exam centers.
CCTV surveillance units will move around centers, and drones will provide aerial monitoring. Police escorts will secure question paper transportation. PSI-rank officers will oversee each center, with Quick Response Teams (QRTs) from the Crime Branch and Cyber Crime Branch monitoring social media.
DCP Reema Munshi stated that the Ahmedabad City Police is fully prepared for the NEET re-exam with 23 centers and around 10,445 students. The police will ensure security with DCPs, police staff, and traffic regulation. The Crime Branch will deploy QRTs, and drone surveillance will be active around exam centers.
The Police Commissioner has ordered nearby photocopy centers to close during the exam period. The NEET UG 2026 re-exam is a nationwide effort following the cancellation of the original test due to alleged paper leaks. Enhanced security protocols and revised procedures are in place for the re-test.
