Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested two men in Behrampura, Gujarat, for possessing a banned narcotic substance. Hasmukh Sargara (27) and Manish Sargara (26) were apprehended with 52.410 grams of mephedrone, valued at Rs 1,57,230, during a raid near Santoshnagar Four Buildings. The accused did not have any permit for the illegal possession.
Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the two accused and the supplier of the contraband. The seized items during the operation included the narcotic substance, three mobile phones worth Rs 15,000, cash amounting to Rs 6,000, a Honda Activa scooter, a pocket weighing scale, and multiple empty zipper bags. The total value of the seized property was estimated at Rs 1,98,920.
Both accused, residents of Santoshnagar in Behrampura with roots in Barmer district, Rajasthan, are under investigation. This arrest is part of a broader crackdown on narcotics in Gujarat. Recent operations by the Anti-Terrorism Squads in Gujarat and Rajasthan have led to significant drug seizures and arrests linked to wider trafficking networks.
