The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has intensified relief and rescue operations in rain-affected areas of the city. Over 8,900 food and snack packets were distributed, with significant efforts in Gota Housing, Vastral, and Madhumalti. Rescue teams from the Fire and Emergency Services have saved around 50 residents, including those from Santosa Park and Rabariwas.
Authorities distributed food packets in various localities, including Asarwa, Viratnagar, Sarkhej, Shankar Bhuvan Chhapra, Gomtipur, Danilimda, Dudheshwar, and Malav Talav. Additionally, rescue operations were carried out in Santosa Park, where 35 residents were rescued, and in Rabariwas, where 11 people were saved from rising water levels. The fire department ensured the safe evacuation of all affected individuals to secure locations.
Rescue efforts also included saving 10 to 15 residents from Santosa Park on a previous day, bringing the total number of evacuees to around 50. The fire department responded promptly with appropriate safety measures, emphasizing ongoing monitoring of rain-affected areas and immediate deployment of teams where needed.
