Cleaning railway tracks and surrounding areas is a challenging task that requires modern equipment and coordination. The Sabarmati Loco Shed in Ahmedabad has unveiled a new vacuum-assisted cleaner machine, aiming to simplify track cleaning efforts. This innovative machine recently underwent a successful trial at Sabarmati station, promising easier track cleaning, as stated by railway officials.
The vacuum-assisted track cleaning device, developed by Western Railways under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, is an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution. Ahmedabad Divisional Railway Manager, Ved Prakash, highlighted the machine’s effectiveness in removing dirt from railway tracks, emphasizing its recent launch after thorough development. Passengers have expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness efforts, with many commending the improved cleanliness at various stations.
Rail passenger Hansmukh Parmar appreciated the visible cleanliness at the railway station, noting a significant improvement compared to the past. The adoption of advanced technology for cleaning by Indian Railways aligns with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaigns.
