Allegations of corruption amounting to Rs 4 lakh crore during the DMK’s rule have been raised by AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. He submitted a detailed memorandum to Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi, urging a thorough investigation into the accusations.
Palaniswami, accompanied by senior AIADMK leaders, presented evidence of alleged irregularities in various government departments since the DMK came to power in 2021. The delegation called for a comprehensive probe into what they described as a pattern of systemic corruption over the past four years.
Following the meeting, Palaniswami criticized the DMK government, accusing it of neglecting the welfare of Tamil Nadu’s residents and emphasizing corruption as its primary characteristic. He highlighted the need for immediate and unbiased scrutiny of the financial discrepancies reported.
Questioning the DMK’s decision not to include cash in the Pongal gift hamper, Palaniswami expressed disappointment over the government’s failure to fulfill public expectations during festive occasions. The AIADMK leader reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability through continued advocacy for a thorough investigation.
