AIADMK General Secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, C. Joseph Vijay, for the state’s law and order situation. Palaniswami accused the government of failing to address crime, drug trafficking, and violence against women, citing a recent incident in Chennai where a youth was allegedly beaten to death for selling ganja.
Palaniswami questioned the government’s approach to drug-related offenses, asking if violence and extrajudicial actions were now the norm. He also criticized Chief Minister Vijay for allegedly shifting blame onto officials for governance failures, emphasizing the need for real change driven by political leadership.
The AIADMK leader expressed concern over the delay in launching the government’s ‘Lioness Task Force’ for women’s safety, questioning why the initiative was postponed despite being ready for rollout. Palaniswami highlighted reports of ruling party members facing criminal allegations, raising doubts about the government’s ability to maintain law and order.
Palaniswami urged the Chief Minister to prioritize governance over political rhetoric and focus on ensuring public safety. He emphasized the government’s responsibility to uphold law and order, protect women, and safeguard citizens throughout Tamil Nadu.
