AIADMK MP Dhanapal has urged for a thorough investigation into the resignation of four party MLAs who joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), expressing concerns about potential financial irregularities. Dhanapal raised suspicions of significant money transactions related to the defections, emphasizing the need for a CBI inquiry to safeguard democratic processes.
The MP highlighted doubts over the legitimacy of the TVK government’s majority following the sudden exit of the legislators right after the new administration took charge. He also called upon the Enforcement Directorate to closely monitor the situation amidst the ongoing political developments.
The AIADMK is currently witnessing efforts towards reconciliation between its rival factions, with reports suggesting a potential reunion. Leaders from both camps are anticipated to retract their support for the TVK government, a move that could have substantial implications on the political landscape in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
