The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for a thorough investigation into the sudden health deterioration of veteran actor Rajesh Sharma while filming for Prabhas’ upcoming movie ‘Fauji’ at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. AICWA expressed serious concerns over the actor’s medical emergency and insisted on an immediate, impartial, and transparent probe into the incident. Rajesh Sharma’s health reportedly worsened significantly during the shoot, leading him to seek treatment in Kolkata where he is currently hospitalized.
The latest medical update has raised alarms as Rajesh Sharma remains under close medical supervision and is still considered to be in a critical condition. AICWA has questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, particularly why the actor was not promptly admitted to a reputed hospital in Hyderabad when his health deteriorated on set. The association has also raised concerns about the availability of emergency medical assistance during the shoot and whether essential workplace safety and medical protocols were followed.
AICWA emphasized the film industry’s responsibility to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment for all artists and workers. The association highlighted previous concerns regarding poor hygiene, inadequate sanitation, and the lack of proper emergency medical facilities at various shooting locations nationwide. AICWA has urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to initiate a high-level investigation into the incident at the ‘Fauji’ set and determine any negligence on the part of the production team.
The association has demanded strict legal action against those accountable for any lapses, regardless of the production’s scale or budget. AICWA also called for the producer and production house to cover the entirety of Rajesh Sharma’s medical expenses and ensure his well-being until he fully recovers. The statement concluded by emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of everyone in the film industry and establishing non-negotiable standards for workplace safety and emergency medical preparedness.
