AIMIM’s Uttar Pradesh president, Shaukat Ali, caused a stir by suggesting a new slogan encouraging having more children during a public meeting in Moradabad. Ali, who heads the state chapter of AIMIM, advocated for Muslims to have as many children as possible, emphasizing that a larger population would strengthen the country. He also urged Hindus to increase their birth rates to enhance national vigor.
Ali’s remarks on population growth and community strength drew sharp reactions, with him highlighting the positive impact of a larger population on national development. Additionally, he criticized the negative perception of population growth, especially in the context of India being a youthful nation. Ali also took aim at the Samajwadi Party and made controversial statements on mob lynching and alleged harassment of Muslims.
During his address, Ali not only advocated for increased birth rates among Muslims and Hindus but also defended against accusations of being aligned with the BJP. He refuted claims of being the ‘B-team’ of the BJP, emphasizing his Muslim identity and challenging those who accused him of such affiliations.
