AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi filed a complaint with Hyderabad police, accusing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma of promoting hatred towards Muslims. Owaisi demanded immediate legal action against Sarma for a video depicting him shooting Muslims, which has since been deleted. The MP highlighted Sarma’s history of making anti-Muslim statements through various media platforms, urging the authorities to take action against such incitement.
Owaisi emphasized the detrimental impact of hate speech on communal harmony and national integration. He pointed out a recent video shared by the Assam BJP’s official account, showing Sarma aiming a firearm at individuals portrayed as Muslims. The video’s content, including phrases like ‘point blank shoot’ and ‘No Mercy,’ was deemed as a deliberate attempt to fuel animosity between religious communities. Owaisi called for legal intervention against Sarma for his actions, citing the need to prevent further escalation of communal tensions.
The AIMIM President stressed the urgency of addressing such provocative behavior, urging the Police Commissioner to act swiftly in accordance with the law. Owaisi’s complaint underscored the seriousness of the situation, emphasizing the need to curb actions that could potentially lead to communal discord and violence.
