The Ministry of External Affairs announced that Air India and Indigo are planning to restart flight operations from Qatar to India as the flight situation in the Gulf region improves. Qatar Airways is already flying to various Indian destinations with Qatar airspace partially open. In addition, there are around 105 flights scheduled between the UAE and India on Monday, with limited commercial flights operating from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Flights are also running from Saudi Arabia and Oman to India, and Kuwait airspace is open with Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways resuming limited flights to India. Bahrain airspace is open, and Gulf Air is operating flights to India from Bahrain. Iraq’s airspace is open for limited flights to the region, which can be used for onward travel to India.
Iran’s airspace is partially open for cargo and chartered flights, but Indian nationals are advised against traveling there. The Indian embassy in Tehran has assisted in moving 2,445 Indian nationals out of Iran through land borders. Israel’s airspace is open, with limited flights to the region available for onward travel to India.
Indian Missions are actively engaging with the Indian community in the region, providing assistance and support. Since February 28, approximately 1,296,000 passengers have traveled from the region to India. Indian Missions and Posts are operating helplines round-the-clock, assisting Indian nationals and staying in touch with local governments. Regular advisories are being issued, covering local government guidelines, flight and travel situations, consular services, and welfare measures for the Indian community.
