Air India Express announced the resumption of flights to Salalah in Oman and Kuwait, enhancing air travel between India and the Gulf region. Flights on the Kozhikode–Salalah route have recommenced from July 2, while services between Kozhikode and Kuwait will resume from July 3. Additionally, flights connecting Bengaluru and Kuwait are set to restart from July 4, with frequencies gradually increasing in the following days.
The Kozhikode–Salalah route will initially operate twice a week, while the Kozhikode–Kuwait service will start with one weekly flight from July 3, expanding to three weekly services from July 5. Air India Express will now serve two airports in Oman with the restoration of Salalah operations — Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport.
In addition to the above, the airline has reintroduced flights between Muscat and Mangaluru starting July 3. Passengers can book tickets for these flights through various platforms including the airline’s official website and mobile application. Air India Express aims to strengthen its presence in the West Asia market by operating to 13 destinations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Bengaluru–Kuwait service will commence with one weekly flight from July 4, increasing to three weekly flights from July 7. Notably, all Kuwait-bound and Kuwait-originating services by Air India Express will operate from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport. With a network of around 780 weekly flights between India and the Gulf region, the airline connects 18 Indian cities directly to Gulf destinations.
Expanding its domestic and international network, Air India Express has recently introduced new routes including Navi Mumbai–Abu Dhabi, Guwahati–Abu Dhabi, Guwahati–Dubai, Bengaluru–Phuket, and Pune–Amritsar. These additions bring the total weekly flights from Bengaluru to approximately 415, connecting the city with 30 domestic and seven international destinations. Similarly, from Kozhikode, the airline now operates about 85 weekly flights, linking the city to Bengaluru and 13 destinations across West Asia.
