Air India Express has announced the resumption of its flight services to Qatar and Bahrain, along with an expansion of its network to key Gulf destinations like the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia starting from April 30, 2026. The airline has restored connectivity from major Indian cities and regional gateways such as Amritsar, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi. It will also continue operating flights to prominent destinations in the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar.
Air India Express, supported by the Tata Group, operates more than 500 daily flights linking 45 domestic and 17 international destinations across South, Southeast, and West Asia. The airline boasts a fleet of over 100 Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. Additionally, the airline confirmed that Kuwait services will remain part of its Gulf network, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the region.
Recently, an Air India Express flight traveling from Delhi to Bhubaneswar had to be diverted to Jaipur due to adverse weather conditions. The flight, identified as IX-1057, made an unscheduled landing in Jaipur as a precautionary measure. An official spokesperson from Air India Express explained that the diversion was necessary due to unfavorable weather en route to Bhubaneswar. After a brief stop in Jaipur and improvement in weather conditions, the flight safely resumed its journey to Bhubaneswar without any reported incidents or damages.
