All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA, Rafiqul Islam, criticized the BJP and Congress for their political approaches in Assam. Islam accused the BJP of promoting communalism and failing to deliver on its promise of inclusive development. He highlighted that the Congress, instead of confronting the BJP, is focusing on AIUDF, which he believes benefits the ruling party.

Islam outlined AIUDF’s plan to contest in approximately 30 to 32 constituencies in the upcoming Assembly polls. He expressed confidence in the party’s organizational strength at the grassroots level. Additionally, Islam urged the Congress to directly challenge the BJP in Upper Assam, where the ruling party holds a significant presence.

The AIUDF MLA raised concerns about the Congress’s electoral strategy, noting that the party’s concentration on minority-dominated seats weakens the opposition space. He pointed out that several Congress MLAs and senior leaders have joined the BJP recently, indicating internal challenges within the Congress party.

According to Islam, the Congress’s focus on AIUDF rather than the BJP is advantageous for the ruling party. He emphasized that AIUDF aims to prevent the BJP from regaining power in Assam and ensure a government that prioritizes unity and justice for the people of the state.
