Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of plotting to tarnish Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s reputation. This claim arose after reports linked the Chief Minister’s family to land transactions in Ujjain, suggesting potential gains from upcoming development projects.
Speaking at a press event, Akhilesh Yadav stated, “The BJP’s attempt to defame Mohan Yadav is a deliberate scheme. His involvement in land dealings, given his prior real estate background, should not surprise the BJP.” He further alleged that these accusations aim to facilitate the removal of three Chief Ministers by the BJP.
Yadav questioned the timing of the allegations, emphasizing that any land purchases should have been known during the property registrations. He insinuated a political agenda behind these actions, targeting not only Mohan Yadav but also Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, possibly to impact Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The SP chief reiterated his stance, suggesting a coordinated effort to discredit Mohan Yadav and potentially replace the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In response, Congress leaders called for a judicial inquiry into the Ujjain land deals, labeling the situation as a significant blemish on Madhya Pradesh’s reputation.
