Bhatia’s exceptional round featured 11 birdies, despite facing a bogey and a double bogey. His ability to rebound with consistent birdie-making was pivotal, especially with a strong back nine that included six birdies, securing the best score of the day.
At the tournament’s summit, Matt Fitzpatrick led with a flawless 8-under 63, bringing his total to 14-under par. He holds a narrow one-shot advantage over Viktor Hovland, positioned at 13-under following rounds of 64 and 65.
Ludvig Åberg, the initial leader, dropped to a tie for fourth after a 1-under 71, joining Patrick Cantlay and Sepp Straka. Harris English claimed third place at 10-under.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler sits at T-14 with 7-under, while FedEx Cup leader Cameron Young is placed further down the standings at T-35.
