The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has given the green light to establish the disciplinary action committee and manifesto committee for the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee. Notably, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the former West Bengal Congress President and a five-time Lok Sabha MP, has been designated as a special invitee solely in the manifesto committee. The disciplinary action committee is chaired by Debaprasad Ray, with Prasanta K. Dutt serving as the Vice-Chairman.
The disciplinary action committee comprises seven members, including Pradip Bhattacharya, Isha Khan Chowdhury, Supriyo Bose, Maya Ghose, Krishna Debnath, Nirmal Ghosh Dastidar, and Ritzu Ghoshal. Presently, Isha Khan Chowdhury is the sole Congress Lok Sabha member from West Bengal, while Pradip Bhattacharya is a former Congress Rajya Sabha member. Bhattacharya has been appointed as the Chairman of the party’s manifesto committee in West Bengal, with Amitava Chakraborty assuming the role of Vice-Chairman.
The manifesto committee consists of 15 members, namely Munish Tamang, Sukh Bilas Burma, Firoza Begum, Nirmal Kumar Bhadra, Chandan Ghosh, Shiladitya Halder, Prasenjit Bose, Sujit Patwari, Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Hasanuzzaman Bappa, SK Ehsan Khan, Sudip Majumder, Amitava Sinha, Santanu Roy Chowdhury, and Swaraj Mandi. Besides Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, other special invitees to the manifesto committee include Deepa Das Munshi, Deba Prasad Roy, Abdul Mannan, Monoranjan Halder, Abhijit Mukherjee, Sunil Tirkey, Nepal Mahato, Mohit Sengupta, Ali Imran Ramz, Santosh Pathak, Sujoy Ghatak, Syed Mustafa, and Gita Sardar, along with heads of all frontals and departments.
