Allegations of forced religious conversion and sexual exploitation at the Nashik branch of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have stirred a political controversy in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Nirupam expressed concern over Hindu women employees being pressured to convert their religion and facing exploitation. He questioned how such incidents could occur within a globally renowned company without its awareness.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also reacted strongly, with MLC Chitra Wagh alleging coercion in conversions. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale emphasized that while voluntary religious conversion is legal, coercion or inducement makes it illegal. NCP-SP National Spokesperson Naseem Siddiqui highlighted the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Authorities in Maharashtra, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, are treating the issue urgently. The police have arrested several TCS employees in connection with the case, which originated from allegations of misconduct within the company. The controversy has sparked debates on workplace safety, corporate responsibility, and the legal aspects of religious conversion.
