A distressing case of alleged gang-rape involving a 40-year-old woman has been revealed in the Dongarpada area of Virar West. The police have taken action based on the victim’s complaint, filing a case against two identified individuals and one unidentified person, and launching an investigation. The incident, as per the First Information Report (FIR), transpired between 2:46 A.M. and 4:30 A.M. on June 24. The complainant accused Tejas, Deepak, and an unknown accomplice of conspiring to take her to a secluded lane in Dongarpada and committing the crime.
In response to the victim’s report, an FIR was initially lodged against the three suspects at the Virar Police Station under Section 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Since the occurrence falls under the jurisdiction of the Bolinj Police Station, the case has been transferred there for further examination. Currently, police officials are engaged in a thorough investigation of the matter. In a separate incident from September 2025, a 17-year-old girl from Kalyan in Maharashtra’s Thane district was purportedly raped by seven men in their twenties over a five-month span.
The victim’s family uncovered objectionable videos of her circulating online, leading to the arrest of all seven suspects. Subsequently, they were presented before a local court and remanded into police custody. The victim, a college student, encountered the main accused on Instagram in April 2025, with their acquaintance evolving into a relationship. The primary accused illicitly recorded their intimate encounters and shared the footage with six friends, who hailed from affluent families in the Murbad and Bhiwandi areas of the district. This group resorted to blackmailing the minor, coercing her into complying with their demands under the threat of posting the videos on social media platforms.
