Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has provided evidence to support her statement that her movie ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ attracted more viewers than the blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’. She shared screenshots on social media displaying the comparison of footfalls between the two films. The data revealed that ‘Dhurandhar’ had around 3.22 to 3.56 crore domestic footfalls, while the original ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ surpassed 5.05 crore theatrical footfalls during its initial release.
Ameesha Patel expressed her gratitude by posting “So blessed” after emphasizing that ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ still holds a dominant position in terms of audience turnout. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has achieved significant success in the Indian box office. The film’s popularity has transcended regions with high occupancy rates, numerous sold-out screenings, and a strong presence in dubbed versions, indicating widespread appeal.
The ‘Dhurandhar’ series has become a cultural sensation, blending action, nationalism, and star power to resonate with viewers and align with current cinematic preferences. Its impact extends beyond the screen, with viral moments, music, and real-life incidents contributing to its influence as a conversation starter. The sequel reinforces the franchise’s position as a key player in contemporary Bollywood cinema spectacle.
