Actress Ameesha Patel has expressed her views on the importance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, emphasizing the significance of listening to women’s voices for the nation’s advancement. She advocates for the proposed 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures, highlighting her consistent support for women’s progress in various spheres. Patel believes that empowering women is crucial and suggests aiming for 100% reservation to truly promote women’s empowerment.

The Women’s Reservation Bill, also known as Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, aims to provide one-third reservation for women in legislative bodies. Originally passed in Parliament in 2023, efforts are underway to expedite its implementation before the 2029 general election by using the 2011 Census data. A special parliamentary session is scheduled to discuss the nationwide implementation of this bill, reflecting a growing focus on gender representation in governance.

Ameesha Patel, known for her roles in films like “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” and “Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai,” believes that women possess a unique understanding of real-world challenges, making their voices essential for societal progress. She stresses the importance of acknowledging and addressing women’s perspectives to drive the country forward, underscoring the pivotal role women play in shaping policies and addressing grassroots issues.
