In a recent strategic meeting in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai deliberated on the ongoing transformation of the Bastar region. The focus was on the Bastar development model and the effective implementation of social welfare schemes in Maoist-affected areas. Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Bastar on May 18 and 19 to assess progress and interact with local authorities.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma also participated in the meeting, offering insights into the security and development efforts in the state. The discussion highlighted the Chief Minister’s ‘Healthy Bastar’ Campaign, which has already conducted health check-ups for over 21.86 lakh individuals in a month. Medical teams have been reaching remote villages to provide treatment and identify health issues, expanding healthcare access beyond geographical constraints.
The state government is transitioning security camps into Public Convenience Centers and hubs, providing citizens with access to healthcare, education, banking, and various government schemes. This transformation is part of the “Bastar Munne Campaign,” aiming to ensure equitable distribution of government benefits. Additionally, the inauguration of a super-specialty hospital in Jagdalpur is set to reduce the region’s reliance on hospitals in Raipur and Bilaspur for critical medical services.
The expansion of the ‘Dial-112’ emergency service and the establishment of new convenience centers are seen as significant advancements for Bastar. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the visible positive changes on the ground, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the initiatives, especially the enhanced healthcare services in previously inaccessible areas.
