Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to Seychelles President Patrick Herminie for the prestigious award and emphasized the importance of global collaboration in combating climate change. Modi dedicated the honor to nations striving to protect the environment for future generations, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action. During a joint press conference with President Herminie, Modi emphasized India’s commitment to the security, sustainability, and prosperity of the Indian Ocean, envisioning it as an “Ocean of Opportunity.”
The ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ accolade adds to a series of international recognitions for PM Modi’s efforts in climate action, sustainable development, and green initiatives. Earlier, Modi received the 2026 Agricola Medal from the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome. Currently, PM Modi is on a three-day State visit to Seychelles.
