The celebration of ‘Naari shakti’ by the Home Minister coincides with the 12-year anniversary of the Modi government, which began in 2014. Amit Shah commended initiatives like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,’ the Ujjwala scheme providing over 10 crore gas connections, and the construction of more than 12 crore toilets to prioritize women’s dignity and convenience. The Mudra scheme has facilitated self-employment for 70% of women through collateral-free loans, promoting economic self-reliance with success stories like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and ‘Crorepati Didi.’
Furthermore, the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, enacted by the Modi government in 2023, has enabled a 33% representation of women in politics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognized women’s achievements across various sectors, underscoring the government’s dedication to women-led progress. Through the hashtag #12YearsOfNariShakti, PM Modi highlighted the substantial contributions of women in financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, and other vital areas, emphasizing their pivotal role in nation-building.
