Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah praised the Bharatiya Janata Party’s success in West Bengal, attributing it to a robust campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking in Gandhinagar, Shah discussed his extensive travels for election campaigns across various states, emphasizing the overwhelming public response in West Bengal.
Shah commended the massive turnout at Prime Minister Modi’s rallies in West Bengal despite scorching temperatures, likening the atmosphere to a festive gathering. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s performance in the state, which ultimately secured 207 seats, entrusting the party with significant responsibilities.
In his address, Shah criticized the previous governance in West Bengal, highlighting developmental disparities compared to Gujarat. He underscored the BJP’s growing influence in eastern India, citing public endorsement of the party’s governance model and the pivotal role of grassroots workers in organizational strength.
The event in Gandhinagar also saw the inauguration and foundation laying of various development projects, including health facilities, water infrastructure, community centers, and sports amenities. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable urban planning and green infrastructure development in Gandhinagar, aiming to make it one of the country’s greenest constituencies.
