Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, alongside Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, launched the ‘Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit’ to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The event saw the groundbreaking ceremony for 1,655 industrial units with investments exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore, expected to create around 1,93,000 direct job opportunities in the state.
The summit, themed ‘Nivesh Se Rojgar – Atal Sankalp, Ujjawal Madhya Pradesh’ (Employment from Investment – Atal’s Resolve, a Bright Madhya Pradesh), showcased the state’s success in translating investment proposals into actual job opportunities over the past two years. Land allocation letters were distributed for projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, and foundation stones were laid for initiatives exceeding Rs 10,000 crore, benefiting the public.
Significant investments were announced in various sectors, including energy, mining, renewable energy, tourism, and healthcare. The event witnessed the participation of prominent industrialists, highlighting their confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape and the state’s recent reforms and accomplishments.
Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the summit’s importance in supporting local industries through new clusters and plug-and-play units, directly connecting the youth with employment opportunities. The program aligns with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Agriculture, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s position as a center for sustainable development and self-reliance, in line with Vajpayee’s governance principles and vision for national progress.
