Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah highlighted India’s role as a “founder nation” in key sectors like artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and semiconductors. He made these remarks during the launch of Million Minds Tech City, Gujarat’s first SEZ IT park in Ahmedabad. Shah emphasized India’s transition from lagging behind to establishing a strong presence in technologies set to shape the global economy in the next 25 years.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah stated that India has become a pioneer in various emerging sectors worldwide. He stressed the importance of sectors such as robotics, quantum computing, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and space technology, which will require a skilled workforce and advanced infrastructure to thrive.
Shah mentioned the need to provide the necessary support and environment for the existing intelligence in the country. He highlighted the significance of technology parks like ‘Million Minds Tech City’ in fostering an ecosystem conducive to innovation and growth. The first phase of the project, costing around Rs 1,100 crore and spanning 13.5 lakh square feet, is expected to accommodate 9,000 highly skilled professionals.
The complete seven-phase initiative aims to draw investments of approximately Rs 15,000 crore and generate over 63,000 high-value jobs within the next five years. Shah noted the transformation in Gujarat’s economic landscape, with a growing focus on technology parks and global capability centers in recent years. He stressed the importance of skilled leadership and modern urban planning to align with global developments.
The event was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and representatives from Ganesh Housing Limited.
