Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah initiated 300 new zero-emission electric buses into the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) fleet. The buses include 195 nine-meter electric buses under the ‘DEVI’ category and 105 advanced 12-meter electric buses. Home Minister Amit Shah virtually laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art High-Security Prison at Narela during the event.
The High-Security Prison project, funded by the Home Ministry and the Delhi government, will accommodate over 250 inmates. It will be one of the most modern, technology-driven high-security prisons in the country, enhancing the capital’s security infrastructure. The prison’s design focuses on advanced technology and global security standards, ensuring individual cells for each inmate to minimize security risks.
The High-Security Prison will feature AI-enabled CCTV surveillance, biometric access control, and advanced security systems. Each cell will have independent facilities to reduce inmate movement. The project aims to set a new standard in security, surveillance, and technology-driven prison management. The event was attended by several dignitaries including Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
