Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah initiated the pilot phase of the PM Family Care Tracker (PM-FCT) and Health Passports in Gujarat. This marks the introduction of an integrated digital platform aimed at monitoring children’s health, nutrition, and education from pregnancy to 18 years of age.
The pilot project, launched in Gandhinagar, consolidates data from the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, and Education Department into a single digital platform. It connects health records via the Poshan Tracker and education data through the Child Tracking Portal (CTS), assigning a unique digital identity to every mother and child using ABHA and the Birth Registration Number.
Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya, addressing the audience, mentioned that the project was initiated under Amit Shah’s guidance. He emphasized the collaboration of the three departments to establish an integrated digital system. Pansheriya expressed confidence that Gujarat would set a successful model for the entire nation through this initiative.
Describing the initiative, Pansheriya highlighted its purpose of ensuring continuous monitoring of children’s development and healthcare. He emphasized the emotional aspect of the platform, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for every child without any gaps. The project aims to create a detailed card for each child up to the age of 18, containing information on hereditary diseases, medical history, and treatments.
During the program, Amit Shah distributed welfare kits under schemes of the Women and Child Development Department. These kits included Anganwadi admission kits, preschool kits, and nutritional support kits for children and pregnant women. The event also featured the presentation of various kits to beneficiaries, including underweight children and pregnant women, under different government schemes.
