Union Home Minister Amit Shah engaged with a Nepalese delegation headed by Rabi Lamichhane, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman, in New Delhi. The meeting aimed to reinforce the commitment to bolster relations between India and Nepal. Shah congratulated Lamichhane on RSP’s election victory and extended India’s well wishes for the new government’s success.
The Nepalese delegation also met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin earlier on the same day. Nabin provided an overview of the party’s core principles and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model. He emphasized the BJP’s organizational structure and its strategy for engaging with the public, highlighting the significant role of party workers in grassroots issues.
During the interaction, Nabin underscored the longstanding ties between India and Nepal based on shared cultural heritage and strong people-to-people connections. He stressed the importance of such dialogues in promoting democratic discourse and closer collaboration between political parties of the two nations. The RSP delegation showed interest in learning about the BJP’s membership procedures, candidate selection process, and methods for nurturing grassroots leadership.
Nabin elaborated on the BJP’s organizational effectiveness through continuous public outreach, engagement at the booth level, and active involvement of citizens in the democratic process. He also spotlighted Prime Minister Modi’s governance principles, focusing on development, public service, good governance, and efficient welfare delivery as fundamental aspects of the party’s political ideology.
