Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to participate in a significant “Janjati Sanskritik Samagam” (Tribal Cultural Conclave) at the historic Red Fort grounds in Delhi on Sunday. The event, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda, is expected to attract around 1.5 lakh representatives from over 550 tribal communities nationwide.
The Tribal Cultural Conclave aims to celebrate tribal identity, indigenous traditions, and cultural heritage while acknowledging the vital role of tribal communities in India’s history and development. Preceding the conclave, a crucial preparatory meeting took place at Shyam Giri Temple in Delhi, where organizers and community representatives discussed various arrangements related to participation, cultural programs, logistics, and security.
Organized by the Janjati Suraksha Manch, the conclave is anticipated to be one of the largest tribal gatherings in the national capital. Colorful cultural processions featuring tribal individuals in traditional attire, carrying indigenous musical instruments, will kick off from five different locations in Delhi before converging at the Red Fort venue.
The program will feature tribal folk dances, traditional music, handicrafts, and exhibitions showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of tribal communities from different states. Additionally, approximately 100 distinguished tribal figures from fields like sports, education, social service, and culture are slated to be honored during the event.
