Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to conduct a series of significant roadshows in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, taking charge of the BJP’s campaign in the crucial final phase of the Assembly elections. Shah will kick off his campaign with a roadshow in Modakurichi Assembly constituency in Erode district to support BJP candidate Kirthika Shivkumar. The party is focusing on direct voter outreach in the strategically important western belt.
Later in the day, Shah will head to Chennai for another major roadshow in support of BJP nominee Tamilisai Soundararajan. The aim of these roadshows is to energize party cadres and enhance last-mile mobilization in both western and northern Tamil Nadu. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is intensifying its campaign in the state, with senior leaders like Shah playing a prominent role.
Shah is also expected to visit the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore before his roadshow in Chennai. The Coimbatore City Police have put in place stringent security measures and traffic diversions to manage the high-profile visits. With the elections nearing, the BJP is focusing on impactful public outreach and leveraging the presence of senior leaders to bolster its electoral chances in Tamil Nadu.
